In an effort not to destroy the lovely home that the nice residents have allowed us to shoot in, we pad every bit of the floor that’s not on camera, and wrap any built-ins or counters with bubble wrap, which is very, very hard to resist popping.
At least for me.

Where I am there’s usually one guy who’s entire job it is to pad the location – bubble wrap on corners and door jambs, ram board for the floor – just before Art shows up to dress the place. Then he disappears until the last day of wrap and reverses the process. In between, it falls to Art to remove the protection as needed for any shooting going on in the particular space.
