Totally Unauthorized

A side of the film industry most people never see.

It’s really totally fixed now – I think.

I’m not really digging the piss-yellow template, though.

So what happened was my template got corrupted somehow – hence that display of gibberish you saw.

After getting ZERO help from blogger’s usually wonderful tech support, I actually had a Live Journal user suggest changing the template.

So, hopefully it’s fixed.

Just so you know, this blog is (and has been for quite some time) mirrored on Live Journal (I hate their compose interface, so no moving over there), although I’ve been lazy about archiving over there, so it’s not quite up-to-date yet (please don’t link there, either – it’s just a backup and I don’t update it very often).

Don’t even start suggesting services that cost money – early on I made a deal with myself that I wouldn’t get all type-A and empty my bank account on pimping out a weblog (or paying for traffic spikes, you hotlinking motherfuckers).

Blogroll will be back as soon as I can muster up the courage to start editing the template again.

    I hate hotlinkers, too. But my hosting company configured their servers to disallow that, so I don’t have to worry about it. I just get a million 403 errors in the logs from all the Myspace and Livejournal users who try to hotlink my pictures.

    And on an unrelated note, did you see this article?

    http://www.nytimes.com/2006/07/20/garden/20romance.html?_r=2&pagewanted=1&oref=slogin

    All about how women think men with tool belts are hot. But they didn’t mention that a lot of men like women with tool belts, too. They’re hot.

    Well, pretty soon you’ll be too busy w/ work to be fiddling with your template (oooh, that sounds like fun, grin) The grips are busy building shelves in the 40 footers for the electricians at Fox, so your call is right around the corner!

    Very relieved that your content is still there.

    I got pissed off just from looking at it a few times yesterday. .. can only imagine what a drag it was for you.

    Thanks for keeping it up. A new post from you is always a good spot in my day.

    Do you know how things happen in 3’s?

    I think you are due for some good-luck.

    Be safe…

    Rule #1: Never pay to blog!

  6. Been wanting to tell you that I read you all the time in my RSS reader. I was looking for “Independent Film” one day and stumbled across you. I have no idea who you are outside of this blog, but you’re fasinating. I love reading your stuff. You’re a great story teller. You write well. Fuzzy, warm feelings towards your general direction… and I’d buy you a cold beer if I ever met you.

    So, sorry about your frustration with your blog. I appreciate what you do here. There are anonymous people out here enjoying your stuff, that you never hear from.

    Thanks, from all of us.

    Piss yellow?! Shows up as avocado green to me. You know, like the long dead (thank god) apliance color?
    Black type on white is still the most easily read. I also prefered the earlier comment display, where it was in the same window.
    Here’s hoping you can stay cool. Stay away from Santa Paula, “Georgia Rule” set where I’ve been 3 days this week. It’s just as hot as NOHO.

    I’ll deal with the piss yellow template. You have helped my wife understand the biz. Until she started reading your blog she thought I was jus making up the shit I have to deal with on a daily basis.

    The color is easy to change. Go to the control panel, click the template tab. This opens your template-scroll down about 1/4 of the page until you see this:

    Designer: Douglas Bowman
    URL: http://www.stopdesign.com
    Date: 26 Feb 2004
    ———————————————– */

    body {
    background:#fff;

    Where it says background:#fff; retype #fff; (or change it to that to make it white) hit the preview button at the bottom of the page to make sure. If it’s white then hit the “save template changes” button. That should do it. If not email me.
