Totally Unauthorized

A side of the film industry most people never see.

Big Photo Sunday!

I rode around Hollywood today, and shot some photos of the pre-Oscar carnage that is the closed streets, traffic snarls and police searches that make up awards show weekend in Hollywood.

The photos can be seen on the extra wonderful site LAist:

I’ve got to get to bed early. I have a 5 am call tomorrow.

Heh. Welcome to my world. I haven’t left the house today. And to make the week complete the marathon is set to screw us Hollywood residents next Sunday too.

    YAY!

Heh. I had thought all this Islam-Will-Conquer-the-World security paranoia was mostly a New York thing. Looks like the LAPD is just as paranoid.

I guess we missed it. Back when we lived over there I think they used to have the Oscars at the Shrine, so we didn’t get to enjoy that particular bit of disruption.

    Peggy,
    You always get those great W I D E – A N G L E views. What camera/
lens are you using these days ???

Peggy sez: I’m using a Nikon Coolpix L3, which isn’t bad except for the terrible shutter lag. Sometimes it’s several seconds between when the button’s depressed and the shutter clicks, which makes me want to throw the camera.

I used to live at Wilshire/Doheny, and one Oscar day, I was going to the Ralph’s on Doheny and Beverly(?) (Third?) Anyway, I had to drive past the Four Seasons. It took me a half an hour to go one block.
