It used to be, that when I wrote something about, say, refusing to take a cat across town to see a fucking kitty eye-doctor, I’d get hate mail from what seemed like every wacko with a pulse and a keyboard.
That was back in the Blogger days – when I moved the blog, I lost around 60 percent of my traffic, which, I’m told, is normal (so much for my thinking I was special and that people would love me enough to update their damn bookmarks), so after yesterday’s declaration of kitty-type hatefulness, I didn’t get one hate mail.
Not one.
I got a hate Meebo message, which I’m counting as about one-third of an actual email due to the extra lameness factor of trying to scold a total stranger in text-speak (“u r mean”).
I’m not sure if it’s just harder to email me via WordPress, or if no one cares anymore. Either way, I win.

It’s odd how hate mail works… I get it for the strangest reasons, and it’s never the entries you’d expect that seem to cause the worst reaction. I’ve all but given up on trying to predict what’s going to set people off.
Actually, I’m still out of a job and am taking an extended vacation doing absolutely nothing. I’m waiting for my electric skateboard to come in, uh, did I mention I’m 44? I’ll send you a pic if I kill myself.
Why is work “slowing down”….what happened to the so-called “stock-piling of shows” the producers were planning to beat the WGA strike ?
Have a great trip!

I think everyone is just out enjoying summer. You’ll get hate mail soon.
Even I don’t think I would have taken the cat. And I’m pretty sure I fit into one of those categories you listed.
So… you see. You are just not doing anything hateful enough.
Dear Peggy Archer,
I stumbled upon your blog from the local 728 website. I am trying to break into the union, but from what I am hearing it is flooded at the moment, much like many of the other unions. I asked the women working the phones over at the union how I might get my days, and she told me to call all the studios twice a day looking for permit work.
I wanted to get your opinion, being a member and being so helpful revealing the black box on the whole scene for people that don’t have an insiders view. What can I do to get on a Union show, or get 30 days? I don’t know anybody thats in the union, Don’t have family in the business and don’t have rich parents. What do you think I can do? Please give me some direction. Thank You
Josh
I’m so embarrassed – until I saw you the other day, I thought you’d stopped blogging. I’ve no excuse, really; I’m sure you posted when you moved, but at some point there just wasn’t anything new in the RSS, and I lost you.
I’m back! I’m back!
