Totally Unauthorized

A side of the film industry most people never see.

Slowing down, for now.

Our TV show is going on hiatus in a week,  which means it’s time for me to start calling around to see if anyone is hiring for anything  else.

As much as I like leisure time, there’s still a little work out there before it goes completely dead, and I want to get as much of it as I can.

Soon enough, there will be no work at all, and that’s when I take advantage of my new beach-adjacent location and get in some swim time!

I’m off work today, which given the traffic snarl due to the President’s visit, is not a bad thing.

It means I don’t have to worry about sitting in traffic wishing I had hood mounted machine guns.

Hopefully I’ll get a few days next week before the official end.

I am sooooo not looking forward to the commute home tonight. The planning on these visits definitely leaves something to be desired!

Strangely, I don’t notice the typical TV seasonal production slowdowns as much as in past years. With all the ancillary network cable channels these days, work is available if you actively pursue it.

The broadcast network shows on my home lot — the big episodics and sit-coms — have all folded their tents for the season, and those that survive won’t re-open for business until mid-July when the building/rigging starts.

Cable marches to it’s own drummer, however, and at least one new cable sit-com is gearing up next week. So-called “Reality Shows” are coming too, but it’s hard to crack into that circuit unless you know people who are already inside.

Still, summer isn’t the no-work wasteland it used to be…

Good point, Michael. By the way…if by some chance you haven’t already seen any of this hilarious series on YouTube, take a look…
