Totally Unauthorized

A side of the film industry most people never see.

Weekend Photos

Of course the collective freakout and mass exodus meant empty streets and quiet (oh, how quiet it was. Like a little slice of heaven).  The few people left in town proceeded to take photos of the empty freeway, just because it’s so very disconcerting to see it like this. Between empty roads and the silence,  it almost felt like living through The Omega Man. Only, you know, without the vampires.

We should do it every weekend!

Yes. Remember the 1974 oil crisis? Several countries in Europe banned driving on Sundays, and their roads looked like this, except with more bicycles. At the time, I was hoping the U.S. would do this, but of course it never happened.

I once had a dream where there weren’t any more cars, but all the freeways were still there. In the dream, all five lanes were filled with bicycles, everyone cycling to work in the morning along the 405. It was kind of awesome.

I’m sorta curious what next weekend will be like. Back to normal? Or even worse, as everyone tries to do all the things they’d originally planned to do last weekend?
