A side of the film industry most people never see.

Friday Video

This is why the neighbors complain about film crews. That’s half a million watts of light flashing at four am.

More like a half-million watts of awesome! Can’t the neighbors close their windows?

  2. Dave2 says:

    Err… curtains. Close their curtains.

  3. Lightening Strikes, I presume?

That mega-wattage is only half the problem — the rest comes from noise. The small army that is an episodic film crew can’t help making lots of noise on location, moving trucks, condors, building parallels, etc. When the noisy work stops for “lunch” at 1:00 in the morning, a hundred technicians, production people and extras line up and start talking, joking, and laughing.

If the show features car chases, wrecks, gunfire and explosions, any civilians unlucky enough to live nearby are shit out of luck when it comes to getting a good night’s sleep. I don’t blame them for hating us. I’d feel the same way.
