These were taken at the Firestone tire factory in South Gate. Built in 1922, it’s now awaiting the wrecking ball to make way for the only thing we seem to build in Los Angeles these days: Glass lofts with a Walgreens.

Proof that the camera is not the most important tool in making good photos.
I like the columns/left arrow shot and the panorama best, but they’re all very good.
That place is very clean for being closed since 1980 (I read the Wiki). Beats the old Bethlehem Steel plant; that place was toxic, and the dust got on and IN every part of your body.
They did a clean up before we shot, to minimize bird shit.
Great pics — they look like production stills from “Walking Dead,” minus the zombies…
